HATS ON to 100 Years of John Deere Tractors
& 18 Years of the Gathering of the Green.

Yes, it is timely for John Deere enthusiasts/admirers everywhere to put their HATS ON to celebrate John Deere’s entry into the farm tractor business with the Company’s purchase of the Waterloo Gas Engine Company in March of 1918 ... marking the beginning of the long green line.

And HATS ON to 18 years of the Gathering! March of 2018 will also mark the 10th Gathering of the Green, an every-other-year conference with a goal to encourage, educate, enhance and further the preservation of John Deere antique tractors and implements.

John Deere fans everywhere are invited to attend the March 21-24 Gathering of the Green in Davenport, Iowa. It’s like a family reunion! It’s Where Friends Meet!

Over the years, thousands of attendees have traveled to Davenport from coast-to-coast and from around the world to take in this notable conference. Whether you are a collector, restorer, owner/operator or just admire everything John Deere, you won’t be disappointed!

There is something for everyone at the 2018 Gathering – interesting technical & historical workshops, a host of vendors to meet the needs of all John Deere enthusiasts, great speakers, appealing trips and tours, a delicious banquet with keynote speaker and amazing displays mirroring the 2018 theme, “Legend, Made Legacy” as we celebrate 100 years of John Deere tractors.

The 2018 Gathering Evening Speaker Lineup has been announced.

The 2018 Gathering of the Green conference (March 21-24) will feature two outstanding Deere & Company speakers. Neil Dahlstrom, Manager, Corporate Archives & History is the speaker for Thursday evening, March 22, and Graham Thompson, Director, Global Tractor Portfolio Development and Strategic Growth Planning, will be the Gathering banquet keynote speaker on Saturday, March 24.

Thursday: Deere archivist and author Neil Dahlstrom will explore the early 20th century tractor industry as seen from inside the Deere & Company board room, including the interesting history, facts and fictions of the John Deere All-Wheel Drive tractor.

Saturday: Forward looking and notable Deere & Company long-range planner Graham Thompson will focus on the 100 year anniversary of John Deere tractors, key shifts in the agricultural industry and how John Deere’s core values will remain foundational to the company over the coming years.

There will be lots of unusual treasures awaiting your viewing pleasure!

The line up of events includes restoration workshops, outstanding speakers, tractor collections, trips and tours, and dozens of vendors for everything you need and want for your own projects.
