John Deere Combines A Rich Heritage in
Harvesting, Manufacturing and Development
Join us for a pictorial history of the important changes and influences John Deere has brought to the world of combine harvesting. This presentation takes you on a journey back through the development of John Deere combines from grain binders of the early 1900s to today’s powerful state of the art STS combines. Hear the story of how John Deere developed the first corn head, the first hydrostatic drive combine and other harvesting innovations. Video clips of John Deere’s latest harvesting advancements including the new “Bullet Rotor” will also be shown.
Randy Sergesketter joined Deere & Company as a summer trainee in 1980 and worked as a floor supervisor at the Harvester Works. After graduation from college, he returned to the Harvester Works and progressed through a variety of manufacturing, engineering and management positions. In addition, Randy has held management positions in four factories, three equipment divisions and corporate headquarters. He was the general manager of the John Deere Harvester Works from 2003 to 2005 and prior to this position was manager of manufacturing operations.
On July 1, 2005, Randy Sergesketter was named Senior Vice President for the Worldwide Commercial and Consumer Equipment Division and resides in Cary, North Carolina.
Randy grew up in southern Indiana, and is a 1980 graduate of Purdue University. He received his MBA in 1986. Randy is married with two children.
